This image contains three horizontal format frames, each have and exposure time of 30 seconds.

Description: Buachaille etive mor is another famous icon of the Scotish Highlands. This partiicular morning was bitterly cold and i was well wrapped in a Ider down jacket. Standing almost in the middle of the River Etiive and ballanced on a few rocks, this foreground ice added a great partner to the distant mountain.

Description: The last light of the day was pretty uneventful, though at this location the main interest for me was the colour of the mountains reflected in the very thin sheet of ice. Shortly after this capture we experienced some light rain and made our way back out and up the steep terrain to the vehicles. This image contains four vertical images seemlessly blended.

Description: This chasim is a short walk from the main Glen Etive road. The location of this image,was a little tricky to get too, and required some careful negotiation fo the wet rocks and foliage. The late afternoon sun added some great light in to the scene though the light levels where hard to control. Due to this, this image contains three images of differing exposures to create it. Description: This waterfall is a short walk from the main Glen Etive road. The location of this image is very close to the edge and required some careful negotiation fo the wet rocks and foliage. The late afternoon sun added some soft light in to the scene. A 10 stop neautral Density filter was used to blur the water.

Description: Black Rock Cottage stands at the gateway to the Glencoe Ski field. A short walk from the car gives rise to yet another iconic view of Scotland. No visit this far north should see a photographer getting a great image of this scene. The stormy clouds add drama to the wild mounatin landscape, whilts the warmth of the foreground bracken is most uplifing. This image consits of fiver vertical frames seamlessly blended for a high resolution panoramic image.

Description: The old bike shed in Glen Etive, is a well known photographic icon in the Glen. The old bike appears to of been here sometime and has certainly seen better days. Photographic options here are very limited with only a few angles to shoot from. This was my favorite and made for a good black and white conversion.

Description: This is one of my favorite shots from the whole trip. Taken looking north towards Ullapool, the distant mountains complete the composistion. However, getting this image was very tricky, with only enough room for the tripod and myself balanced 2ft above the large swell that kept crashing in. On several ocassions, I thought that was it!!!!!

Description: We walked the 30 min trail to Loch Kernsary on two ocassions, hoping for a spectacular sunrise. However we never got one, only the pre-dawn blue gave us a decent image. The long exposure was the result of the poor light, not filter induced.

Description: By using the 10 stop filter during what little sunset colour there was, it smoothed out the motion of the clouds, drawing the eye to the lighthouse itself. If you look, there is a small halo around the light itself, something you cannot plan for during a lengthy exposure.

The location itself is well out in the sticks on the way to a small crofting village called Applecross in the Torridon region of North West Scotland. Description: This unsual pattern of rocks caught my eye on a murky and overcast day on some wild windswept and unamed beach in the Wester Ross region of Scotland. The purples in the rockwas quite pronouced under the cloudy conditions, giving great soft light.

Description: A well rusted Hull of an old fishing vestle, washed up on yet another remote Scottish Beach. Using my ultra wide angle lens at 14mm, I was able to make use of the debris as foreground interest. The boat from this position was only around 5 feet away. The light was harsh in the mid morning, but we had no other choice for a return visit due to its remoteness.
